"Porto Kings" are heading to Italy!
The sports team from Porto, called "Porto Kings", won at national level and is now going to Milan to represent Portugal in the International Erasmus Games (IEG). Starting this thursday, May 5, 22 countries will fight for the victory in Milan, Italy.
The teams are composed by Erasmus students that represent their host countries in three modalities: soccer, volleyball and basketball. The chosen fields are Bicocca Stadium and Palabicocca, who will receive the following countries: Slovakia, Czech Republic, France, Portugal, Latvia, Switzerland, Romania, Croatia, Germany, Serbia, Lithuania, Denmark, Turkey, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Bulgaria, Estonia, Slovenia and Hungary.
And if your favorite team doesn't win the games, they can always win the Photo Contest that rewards the most social team of IEG 2016!
During the days of the event, which lasts until 8 of May, 350 students from 40 different countries of origin will be able not only to play sports but also to attend the opening ceremony in the University's Aula Magna and the flag and color parade that begins in piazza del duomo and ends at Castello Sforzesco.
The choice for the host city of IEG was unanimous by the members of the Erasmus Student Network from all countries. This way, Milan follows the steps of the polish city of Krakow and hosts the second edition of International Erasmus Games.
This event is considered a great victory of ESN. By using sports to connect students from different countries, the network increases the "Erasmus spirit" and encourages a healthy life among its participants.
