Trip to Sintra and Cascais

Saturday and Sunday, 17th-18th November

Meeting Point 7h30 @ Reitoria

We’ll start between rocks and hills, where you’ll find Castelo dos Mouros from the 10th century that has a stunning view of Sintra! Then bring your dresses and crowns (after all, you’re kings and queens in the North!), because Palácio da Pena, one of the 7 wonders of Portugal with fascinating colours from the 19th century, is waiting for you to romanticize your life and let you get lost in its gardens… We’ll end the day in Lisboa, with an awesome dinner in a typical restaurant (lots of food, drinks and noise!) and a party with our ESN Lisboa friends! - Ready to show them how we do it?!

On Sunday, rise and shine, because we’ll check the westernmost point of continental Europe, Cabo da Roca, known as the place “Where the land ends and the sea begins” or just even “the end of the world” - the landscape and the wind are dramatically stunning! After that, you’ll know a little about Cascais, a seaside city with its famous “Hells Mouth” cliff, that gained this name because of the scary impact of the waves on the small cave.

Last but not least, we’ll move to the famous Quinta da Regaleira, a property classified as world heritage by UNESCO and known for the beautiful gardens and amazing architecture of the 20th century.

We know it’s November, so you’re probably worrying about the rain, but we assure you that this romantic cities are even better in the foggy and mystic weather! What are you waiting for? Run to the office, get your tickets and start living the royal dream!
