ESN Porto
Legal

Terms of Use.

Last updated:

These terms apply to the ESN Porto member app. By creating an account you accept them.

1. Who provides this service

ESN Porto (Erasmus Student Network Porto), registered as Associação Erasmus Student Network Porto, Rua de Olivença 27, 4000-369 Porto, Portugal, NIF 509 935 303. Contact: info@esnporto.org

ESN Porto is a volunteer-run student association. The app is provided as a service to our members, free of charge except for what you choose to buy through it.

2. Your account

  • You need an account to use member features.
  • Give accurate information, and keep it up to date. Some of it (your identity document number, for instance) is passed to our ticketing partner and used on invoices, so errors there cause real problems.
  • Your account is personal. Do not share your login, and do not let someone else use your ESNcard through your account.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. ESNcard and member benefits

  • Some features require a valid ESNcard linked to your profile.
  • Partner discounts (for example Ryanair and FlixBus) are provided by third parties through the esncard.org network, not by ESN Porto. We pass on your identification so the discount can be granted, but we do not control those offers and cannot guarantee they will remain available or on the same terms.
  • If your ESNcard expires, features that depend on it stop working until you renew.

4. Events and tickets

  • Event registration and payment are handled through Eventupp, our ticketing platform. Eventupp's own terms apply to the purchase itself.
  • Refunds, cancellations and event-specific rules follow the terms shown for each event.
  • ESN Porto may cancel or change an event. If we do, we will tell participants and handle refunds according to the event's terms.

5. Partner reviews

The app lets ESNcard holders review partner businesses.

  • You may post a review only if you have a valid ESNcard linked to your profile.
  • One review per partner per day.
  • Write honestly, from your own experience. Do not post insults, discriminatory content, personal data about other people, or anything unlawful.
  • ESN Porto may archive a review that breaks these rules, which hides it from other users. We keep a record of the archiving and who did it.
  • Your first name and initial are shown with your review.

6. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • try to access other people's data or parts of the system you are not entitled to;
  • automate access, scrape, or overload the service;
  • upload malicious content;
  • use the app to harass anyone;
  • misrepresent yourself as ESN Porto or as a volunteer.

If you do any of these, we may suspend or close your account.

7. Content you upload

You keep ownership of what you upload (your profile picture, your reviews). By posting it you give ESN Porto permission to display it within our services for as long as it is posted.

8. Availability

We run this app with volunteer effort on our own infrastructure. We try to keep it working, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or discontinue features.

9. Our responsibility

We provide the app as it is. To the extent the law allows, ESN Porto is not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the app, for third-party services (Eventupp, esncard.org, partner businesses, payment providers), or for events organised by other ESN sections.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death, personal injury, or intentional misconduct.

10. Closing your account

You can ask us to close your account at any time by writing to info@esnporto.org. We will delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy, except for accounting records, which the law requires us to keep.

11. Your data

How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.

13. Applicable law

Portuguese law applies. Disputes go to the courts of Porto, unless the law gives you the right to bring the case elsewhere as a consumer.
